The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) UG 2022 exam was conducted nationwide on July 17, and a total of 18.72 lakh candidates registered for the exam. According to NTA, 95 percent of the candidates appeared for the exam. The exam was conducted across 3,570 centers in 497 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The NEET exam was held in pen and paper mode.
Through NEET 2022, admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, and AYUSH courses will be granted in medical and dental colleges of India. Approximately 91,927 MBBS, 27,698 BDS, 52,720 AYSH seats, and 603 BVSc and AH seats will be offered through the 612 medical and 317 dental colleges.
NEET 2022 Latest news
On 25 Aug 2022, NTA released a public notice that tells about NEET 2022 answer key and result date. Accordingly,
- the answer key was released on 31st August on their website.
- And the NEET result shall get published on 7th September at 12 pm. Check out a news article related to this!

According to that public notice, students can challenge the NEET UG 2022 OMR sheet and answer key till 2nd September. NTA is strict about NO challenge being accepted after the scheduled date.

Challenging Recorded Responses
To challenge the NEET answer key and OMR sheets, candidates must pay Rs 200 as an objection fee for each challenged answer or question. The challenge fee is non-refundable even if the authorities accept the challenge.
To assist the candidates, NTA will send a scanned image of the OMR answer sheet to the registered e-mail address i.e. the email address given by the students at the time of submission of their online application form.

NEET Exam Controversies 2022
Unfortunately, NEET UG 2022 exam had to face a huge set of controversies this year. Yes,
- NEET UG and CUET UG exam conflict,
- a question paper mix-up,
- allegations by the father of a girl candidate (regarding the removal of her innerwear before entering the exam center)
- and students forced to remove their burqa and hijab, etc
NEET Re-examination in 2022
Per the PTI’s report, the NTA has allowed the affected candidates to re-appear for NEET on September 4, 2022, in Kollam. Besides Kollam, a re-examination shall commence for the affected candidates at
- two centers in Rajasthan,
- two in Madhya Pradesh,
- and one in Uttar Pradesh.
The National Commission for Women and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights demanded action against the frisking personnel. The Kerala High Court had also demanded a response from the NTA to a plea seeking a standard protocol for conducting examinations across the nation, given the Kollam NEET row.
Despite this, NTA has not postponed the NEET 2022 result date. It still remains September 7, 2022.
